Remember how about a year ago the site was down while my server got mailed off to a data center? I have decided that their service was mediocre and overpriced to boot, and the contract was just up. I have now ditched them, and decided to move from my dedicated Mac Mini to a substantially cheaper Virtual Private Server running Debian, yet with more bandwidth. I've been switching over subdomains over the past few days as I got kinks straightened out and services up, and the forum was the last one to get moved. Ideally, you will have noticed absolutely nothing. If, on the other hand, migrating from Apache 1.3 and MySQL4 on Mac OS X on a PowerPC to Apache 2 and MySQL5 on Debian on an x86 have kinked up something some where, let me know, and I'll get right on it.

I keep on getting spikes of unresponsiveness.
Firefox will sit at "waiting for last-horse.nenicirene.net..." for extended periods.

That's what I originally thought, maybe it's something on my end here - but this is the only site I'm having the problem with. It's intermittent so I'm having problems tracing it to any cause.

EDIT:
As I tried to make this post, it hung at waiting for a good 10 seconds.
Bleh.

Having same issues here at times. I don't think it is a user issue.

That would have been me turning off apache on my old server so that you guys would stop updating the database that backs the forum, so I could do a mysqldump, scp the file over, and load it up on the new server, hopefully in time for your DNS to have caught up with my pointing the subdomain at the new IP. Smile
